a quick, stinky bus ride

March 15
Grand St. Station
I have arrived! Funny thing happened on my way to Brooklyn. I stepped on the train and immediately across from me was a guy I used to work with. The city is so small sometimes.

March 16
Union Square
Hanging with Lucy and Loni for the afternoon. I haven't seen Lucy since she was months old, but as soon as she stepped out of her stroller she reached up for my hand. My heart melted from her sweetness.

March 17
Brooklyn Bridge Park
Jane's Carousel used to be indoors indoors, which means it was in a building with concrete walls. Now it is indoors outdoors, which means it's in a glass box on the river's edge. Heck yes we rode her charming horses!

March 18
Flatbush Ave.
Lydia meet Mac. Mac meet Auntie Lydia. I'm in love with this snow baby.

March 19
Front Yard
Our progress! I swear things are changing.

March 20
That's me preparing a pie to be baked.

March 21
Deep Run Park
The first time we walked right by this I didn't notice a thing. The second time we walked by twenty feet away, I exclaimated (not exclaimed), "Holy cow!"

So my last minute trip (click it!) to the old boroughs was a medicine I needed so dearly I didn't even realize it.

outside is where i want to be

March 8
Libby Hill Park
I had been wanting to see the view from this park for some time. I finally went to see it and came across the remnants of a yarn bomb!

March 9
City Dogs
Craving a Brooklyn-like outing, I made Andy come here with me. They were weenie dogs and mostly bun. Kind of disappointing. We did go see Hugo at the Byrd and ate popcorn and M&Ms so that helped.

March 10
Dining Room
Our new rug. It's colorful and pretty.

March 11
Park in Church Hill
Sister and I took Eddie (that's him in the photo) for a walk. Then we went to Babies R Us and wanted to buy all the tiny clothes.

March 12
Z and I took a nap on a blanket in the backyard because the weather was sooo nice. And I love to sleep outside. Preferably in parks and in a sleeping bag, but I wasn't complaining.

March 13
Front yard
I know it doesn't look like much, but I thought it was worth noting our porch progress. Today I got to measure and cut all the 2x4s for the little holes in the top. I felt powerful. And I was even wearing my own tool belt.
P.S. I'm going to have a niece! And I will go back to Babies R Us and buy her those cute clothes.

March 14
Even though you can't see that very well, it's the temperature gauge in my car. It says 87. When I first got in the car it said 91. Now, whether that was reading the temperature of the inside of my vehicle after sitting in the sun for some hours or the air temperature outside doesn't matter because that is dang hot for March regardless.

holy cow food

February 24
This is the alarm I set for the next morning. Yes, that's a 4:30 a.m. wake up call. That's what happens when I get the morning shift.

February 25
Dining Room
Poker night! Matt and I split the big winnings.

February 26
Peter Chang's (Not to be confused with PF Chang's)
We decided to try out this new and noteworthy Chinese restaurant with friends. It was quite tasty, but left me with sausage fingers the next day because it was so salty.

February 27
Sunroom Floor
Picking the postcards to send to people.

February 28
Z has decided she prefers the fake window entry into the kitchen as opposed to the door. The only problem with this one is that it lands her right in the sink. But it's funny when she pops her head up like this.

February 29
The Larkum's
Andy rocked Eva (and himself) to sleep at potluck.

March 1
Holy cow, I hate grating carrots even if they are for delicious carrot cake and especially when I'm doubling the recipe.

March 2
Unos Gallery
We went to an art show for our friend, Abby. A perfect opportunity to take at least one picture. But I didn't, like a lazy idiot. So instead I have copied a piece of her art from her blog (check it out!) and showcased it here. I don't think she'll mind the plug. And she does really awesome things.

March 3
I really wanted to have beer and popcorn for dinner. When I realized we didn't have any beer I was forced to cook real food.

March 4
Back yard
Andy got us more wood because it's almost wood-chopping time again. My favorite.

March 5
Whole Foods
You better believe that I am buying an emu egg for the next special occasion that comes up.

March 6
The Smith's
Jamaican potluck with Mara's family and this is the tail end pickins.

March 7
Dining Room
Perks of the culinary school job: I had creme brulee for lunch and got to bring home all these different slices of cakes and mousses to have for dinner.
